Regarding Making up for lost time's old story (Updated)

This one is kind of important, so please read to the end. Thank you.

As I announced a long time ago in one of my afterwords and several updates now, I mentioned that I have plans for keeping the old story around for those who liked it or want to continue reading it, whether for their own reasons or just to see how far my writing has come which is my personal reason.

This isn't the official "announcement" yet, but I had an idea that I wanted to share and this will be true going forward. Remember chapter 2-4? That's right, you don't, because it's the chapter lost in purgatory. I said it wasn't going to see the light of day, but I decided that I might as well include it in this edition of the story, just so there is actually some new content here and you can get something out of it.

Reading it back now, it's rather amusing that the chapter evokes a sort of, "if it ended here permanently I would be fine" kind of vibe. Of course, if it did, that would be rather dumb, because it's still building up to a bigger story. But what is there gives enough detail for the reader to imagine what would be on the horizon, in my humble opinion at least, and a certain amount of closure.

Ultimately, this scene will not make its return in the reboot, so that's why I'm okay adding it here, because it belongs to this story. Quite fittingly, because it will no longer be added to, and this would just sit unread on my computer until the end of its life. Quite sad, isn't it?

Well, I took the parts that were "sort of completed" and removed the parts that weren't. So it's not just going to randomly cut off in the middle of a conversation. However, it will end part way through and not go to the expected end of the original chapter, because obviously I never finished it and will not add to it.

This version of the story will no longer receive updates to grammar or spelling, so what you see is what you get. Unless I really care that much to fix it... And I want to say as well, this "chapter 2-4" is not indicative of my current style of writing, because when you read it you are reading what I had wrote back in 2021. Yeah, a very, very long time ago...

Alright, I'll stop rambling on so much. But I have one final thing I was curious about, and the second reason for making this post other than what I mentioned above. And that is, when should I launch this? I am still leaning towards only making this go live once the reboot is in full swing, but because of this new addition to the old story I was beginning to wonder if I should make it available sooner. However, keep in mind it really is a super small chapter anyway, and the only difference between this "project" and the original story would be some possible minor grammar tweaks and the addition of this snippet.

So if you want, leave your answer in this poll and I'll keep it in consideration. I probably won't take any action for a week or two so I can see how many results I get. I'll try to notify as many people as possible, and if there are any issues with this poll that I am not aware of please let me know. As always, have a great day.

Edit 2: 9/7/2023 - Poll below works, thanks to those who have already voted. As of right now it's leaning towards posting closer to the completion of the reboot, so unless there's a random spike of votes in the next week it looks like that will be the decision. Please continue to vote if you haven't though, I'd like to hear your opinion! I'd like to also add some more thoughts of mine here.

I didn't really want to post this too soon because there would be this awkwardly long period of having two duplicate "stories" existing at the same time on Wattpad. If it wasn't clear, I have no intentions of keeping the old story on FanFiction. It will be hosted here on this website as well as on Wattpad because I have better control over how it's presented to the reader.

Well, I say that now but I have the chapters ready on FanFiction if I change my mind. I've gone through each chapter and tidied up any loose ends like spelling errors or word usage. I've gotten much better since I originally posted these chapters so I was able to catch some errors.

So in my eyes, this isn't just a copy-paste of the story you have probably read over and over, (if people have even done that) so you might notice a change here or there, and then there's the included soft-ending after 2-3.

I've removed the afterwards from each chapter since a lot of them aren't really relevant anymore. I'll probably include thoughts on a few chapters in a blog post or in the chapters themselves as a sort of "director's cut" thing, I have not decided on this yet, plus I need to finish the reboot anyway so I can get my thoughts together.

I've also played with the idea of posting at least 2-4 early here on the blog as a bonus for the readers that go out of their way to check it out. And for those of you that have read this far, here is what's on the horizon. Two new chapters for the side stories. The first one will be a short story following Miura and the gang going out to eat during the joint-prom. The second will be a short story on Shizuka's past. These will be posted after the reboot is released.

Before the reboot, this project will be announced and then posted. As for FanFiction, the chapters will be updated and 2-4 added. Then, once the reboot is getting released, those chapters will be deleted and replaced with the new ones. Wattpad will follow this release schedule at the same time once the first chapter is live.
